How Long Does it Take For a Squarespace Site to Go Live?
You’ve built your Squarespace website, finished your content and you’re finally ready to set it live. But how long will it take?
The answer depends on two factors, how long the hosting takes to go live and how long the domain takes to go live.

Once you’re ready to set your Squarespace website live you need to head to Settings > Billing > Subscriptions and upgrade your Squarespace subscription. There are four hosting plans to choose from, depending on the type of website you’re running and what your requirements are.
Once you’ve chosen your plan and committed to the subscription, your website will be live. No waiting time at all!
If you’ve had your website password protected in the building phase, head to Settings > Website > Site Availability and ensure this is toggled to public.
If you have a custom domain for your Squarespace website, you’ll need to head to Settings > Domains and Email > Domains and connect your domain to your Squarespace website.
This is the part of setting your Squarespace website live that can take up time, as officially this can take up to 72 hours. I’ve never known it to actually take that long though, and you can check back in a couple of hours to see if the domain is connected.
If it’s taking longer than 72 hours be sure to contact Squarespace support.

So to recap, if you run everything through Squarespace, hosting and domain, your site will be live instantly. If you want to add your own domain that you’ve bought from elsewhere e.g. GoDaddy, it can take up to 72 hours.
