How to Restore Previous Designs on Squarespace

Even the most seasoned of Squarespace designers make mistakes from time to time.

Sometimes you’ll add a feature or try something new and it will look awful. In this instance, you want to revert to the design you had before you made a mistake.

Luckily there is a way to do this, but you need to still be in the edit dashboard e.g. you need to have not saved your changes. If you’ve already hit save then I’m afraid this hack won’t work.

To restore a previous design, when you’re in the editor in the top panel you’ll see a few options. You have the save and exit buttons but next to those you have an undo and a redo arrow.

These undo arrows are your lifeline. If you’ve made changes and you don’t like them, you can simply hit the undo button until you’ve got rid of all the steps you want to remove. Simple.

The key thing to remember though is to not click exit. If you’ve already exited the editor, the undo options simply won’t be there.
