Build a Portfolio Collection on Squarespace

If you want to display your work on your Squarespace website then you can use a portfolio collection.

In this article I’ll walk you through how to build a portfolio collection on Squarespace.

Let’s get started…

Check out the YouTube video below 👇

Within your Squarespace dashboard, first you need to add a portfolio page to your website menu.

Once you’ve added the page and chosen your layout, click through to the page and enter the edit dashboard.

Here you can edit the main portfolio page, the content hub for your portfolio if you like.

By clicking edit section you can edit how your portfolio items are displayed. You can choose your preferred layout, the spacing between the items, text alignment and even hover effects.

In the colors tab you can also change the background colour of your portfolio collection page.

Next you can edit your portfolio items. Click through into the items and here you can start playing around with the layout and adding your content.

You will be given an existing layout but it’s not the best, so I recommend adding your own sections and creating the layout that works for you.

Here you can add text blocks, images, image overlays, videos, buttons, whatever you want your portfolio to include.

To get some inspiration, have a look online at what some of your favorite websites are doing, or even take a look at my portfolio page to see how I display mine.

Once you’re happy with your layout you can duplicate it for the rest of your portfolio items and edit each item with images and text.

A portfolio is super unique to you and your website but hopefully this article will help you to get started.
