How to round the corners of a summary block thumbnail on Squarespace

Whilst you can easily round the corners of standard images on Squarespace, doing so on non-standard images, such as images in a summary block or blog collection isn’t possible. At least natively it’s not.

If you want to round the corners of non-singular images on Squarespace then you need to use a little bit of custom code.

Let’s dive right into the tutorial so you can discover how to round the corners of a summary block thumbnail on Squarespace…

Once you’ve added your summary block and the thumbnail image you want to round the corners of, navigate to Design > Custom CSS.

In your custom CSS panel, you then need to input the block ID for the summary block you are targeting and the following lines of code:

#block-ID * {

border-radius: 10px;

}

In order to find the block ID for your target summary block, use the Google Chrome extension Squarespace ID Finder.

You can play around with the border radius you choose, depending on how curved you want the thumbnail images to be. The higher the border radius, the more curved the corners will be.

And that’s it. It’s super simple and can be a really effective piece of code to have up your sleeve, especially if you’re getting bored of summary block thumbnails always looking the same.

Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think of the results!
